VERDICT

The way Bluedio combined luxurious appearance with comfort and excellent sound quality is absolutely impressive. We would go as far as to say that the Vinyl Plus as Bluedio’s most important headphones to this day. Why? Because they show that the company has what it takes to stand right next to some of the most prominent manufacturers of audio equipment in existence. Nobody who listens to the Vinyl Plus will think that Bluedio is just another Chinese audio company.

According to Bluedio, the Vinyl Plus were inspired by classic and retro vinyl records. The goal was to create the flexible and streamline appearance design of vinyl and pair it with ultra-big 70mm drivers to produce the most natural and original sound. Given our previous experience with Bluedio, we know that the Vinyl Plus won’t disappoint.

Design and Build Quality

The name of the headphones clearly states that the inspiration for their design comes from vinyl records. Indeed, the earcups look like those modern turntables made out of stainless steel. Bluedio cut no corners and used only the finest materials available. Consequently, the headphones look and feel absolutely stunning.

The headband and earmuffs are padded with artificial leather and protein memory foam. Because the foam is rich in protein, your ears won’t get nearly as hot as they do with regular pleather. We are in love with the way the headphones fold into a neat package that can be easily in the provided carry pouch.

Bluedio reduced the number of control buttons in order to complement the minimalistic design of these headphones. The only two buttons that were left are the up/down and power/multifunction button. You can activate a 3D sound feature by simultaneously pressing the volume up and power button, and deactivate it by pressing the volume down and power button. Pairing is engaged by pressing and holding the power button for a few seconds.

The large integrated battery requires 2 hours for a full charge and can then provide power for 20 hours of uninterrupted playback time.

Sound Quality

When it comes to sound, the most impressive feature is the pair of ultra-big 70mm drivers that are designed to effectively improve the sound field to make the sound more natural. It goes without saying that any drivers of this size will work great with bass-heavy music. The sound their produce is powerful, precise, and exciting.

As we’ve already said, you can press the volume up button together with the power button to active the 3D sound feature. Essentially, this feature is supposed to artificially expand the soundstage and make you feel more immersed in the scene. The effect is more subtle than we were expecting, but it works great for virtual reality. You really feel like the world around you suddenly got a bit bigger.

What’s in the Box

The packaging includes a 3.5mm audio cable, charging cable, Y cable, cable with remote and mic, carrying case with a buckle, pouch for cables, and a user manual.
